 Manager, Water Technologies (This is a Business Development Manager)

REMOTE position


Compensation: $120-150k + bonus+ commission+ excellent benefits 
Travel 20%

MUST be able to travel 20%-30%
Reporting Relationships and Contacts: 

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer 

Direct Reports: TBD 

Internal Customers: Sales, Operations, Laboratory 

External Customers: External clients 

Summary: 

Our client offers a diversified portfolio of products and services for Water Treatment (scale prevention) and Industrial (scale treatment) applications. These applications include, but are not limited to: 

  • general cleaning, de-scale and sanitizing; 
  • tank and vessel de-scale; 
  • pH adjustment and solids separation; 
  • desalination; 
  • membrane cleaning; 
  • waste water treatment; 
  • municipal/NSF water treatment; 
  • and many others across the CIP, Food & Beverage, HI&I, Construction, Mining, and Transportation industries, as well as others. 

Reporting to the CEO, the Manager, Water Technologies will lead all business development activities in the above spaces while also providing technical expertise for the company's existing product line. The Manager, Water Technologies will be considered the SME and work with a small team to implement strategic growth objectives including growing the Company’s customer base and identifying areas to innovate. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the development, strategic growth, and leadership of the Industrial sector in North America.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities and prospects proactively.
  • Regularly communicate with prospective and existing customers.
  • Innovate and develop company products/services within the Industrial landscape to drive future revenue growth.
  • Organize and lead business development meetings.
  • Convert prospects into customers by supporting or attending discovery meetings and finalist presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with customers to identify areas where products add value to their operations, targeting both short and long-term opportunities.
  • Utilize industry knowledge to demonstrate the value of products, such as production increases and operational benefits.
  • Promote products by combining knowledge of other disciplines with customers' long-term strategies.
  • Identify customer challenges and opportunities, sending detailed descriptions and samples to the company for product development considerations.
  • Maintain a CRM activity log.
  • Address water treatment chemical, regulatory, and application issues encountered by customers using our products.

Sales & Technical Support:

  • Act as a "Technical Support Partner" for the company.
  • Answer specific questions regarding product usage for new and ongoing operations.
  • Execute presentations and case histories on product usage.
  • Represent the company at conferences with sales stands or other marketing efforts.
  • Coordinate, plan, and execute testing projects with the Sales Team and Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Passion for developing new opportunities with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Significant knowledge of the water treatment industry, including regulations, technologies, and the competitive landscape.
  • Strong analytical skills for determining optimal treatment methods and solutions.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to work effectively across the organization and explain complex techniques to lay audiences.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Confidence in working independently and collaboratively.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook).
Experience/Education 
  • • Bachelor’s Degree in a science discipline. 
  • • 5+ years of experience & knowledge in the Industrial / Water Treatment sector(s).
