Overview:

 

Position Summary:

The National Technical Specialist, Plates is responsible for providing expert level technical support on plate and pressroom products to both internal teams including Technical Services and Sales, and external customers. This position will directly support the business by providing day to day support in dealing with any product or customer related technical issues. In addition, this role will play a key role in identifying and recommending business and technical solutions within the overall Graphics environment.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

Technical Support Plates: 

  • Provide phone, email, or on-site technical support for plate related issues, including troubleshooting, problem solving, and resolution. 
  • Act as product expert by providing relevant technical information (manuals, product specifications, safety guidelines) to technicians and customers when requested.
  • Assist in installation of plates and supporting equipment.
  • Participate in new product introductions, including conducting research and product testing, to determined compatibility with existing equipment and available products, as well as customer need. Provide insight and feedback to management to make effective business and buying decisions.
  • Work closely with Technical Service and Sales team members to share knowledge and provide support on plate related activities.
  • Provide regular updates to sales and management on plate related activities and issues.
  • Communicate with Logistics team regarding inventory-based activities including plate orders and volume requirements.
  • Participate in monthly call with Dealers.
  • Work with 3rdparty suppliers to determine options and solutions for custom plate requirements.

 

Technical Support Sales:

  • Work with Sales to determine customer needs and make product recommendations.
  • Provide support as needed with client meetings and sales presentations.
  • Participate in sales meetings as needed.

 

Quality Assurance Support

  • Work with Fujifilm North America / USA Quality Control Specialists to investigate quality based  
  • Provide support to address Manufacturing issues.
  • Complete Sales Force based Quality Assurance forms.
Qualifications:

 

Skills/Education:

  • 5-8 years of experience working in the Printing industry is required.
  • Previous experience as a Press Operator / operating print equipment / working with plates is a strong asset.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems within a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective decision making skills; able to make decisions independently with little supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, including ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Ability to travel, as well as work flexible hours as needed, is required.
