Data Science Engineering Manager, Core AI

ABOUT THE ROLE

We seek an experienced Data Science Manager with expertise in collaborating on problems, asking questions, delivering feedback, and supporting others in their goals, whether in your vicinity or entire cities apart. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on various technical challenges that leverage complex math and statistics concepts, machine learning techniques, and the latest AI tools to deliver insightful info and correlations at scale in a cloud-native environment.

ABOUT THE TEAM

You will be the manager of our Core AI and AI for Engagement teams, responsible for leading a group of talented Data Scientists and Data Engineers with the main goal of building, managing, improving, and scaling VTEX's Endeavors in Machine Learning and AI. The Core AI team is focused on creating models with VTEX wide utilization and reach, while the AI for Engagement focuses on expanding Core AI base models and features to the specificities of the Customer Engagement Vertical needs. 

This duo will drive the Data Science discipline across VTEX, and together deliver powerful solutions that fuel our ever-improving Search Engine, User-Behaviour modeling, and our recently launched Ads Network.

WHO YOU ARE

• Solid experience leading Data Science teams, ideally focused on User-Behavior modeling and Attribution Modeling, or Advertising engine and Recommendation Systems
• Exposure to large-scale distributed data environments and with highly available systems;
• Experience being accountable for people management, having exposure to performance assessment, hiring, and supporting career growth.
• Experience leading agile teams, being familiar with the most relevant ceremonies, metrics, and processes
• An exceptional level of technical understanding, being able to take part in Modeling and Statistical discussions with Scientists and Engineers and to translate complex, technical projects and concepts for non-engineers
• Advanced English, you will be part of and support a global team.
• Previous experience with Infrastructure as code in a cloud environment will be considered an asset
