About the role

As part of our development, we are looking for a Business Development Manager specialized in the use of NDT, safety equipment or similar, and with experience in the Oil and Gas or Chemistry industry. Our new colleague can be based in either West Texas or North Texas as preferred location. The role is home-based and requires a fair amount of client visits, therefore easy access to an airport is important. In this role, you will:

  • Open, develop and retain relationships with clients in the industrial O&G sector (refining, petrochemical, exploration), aerospace, automotive and pharmaceuticals in New Mexico, West Texas (Permian Basin), North Texas (Dallas, Amarillo), Oklahoma.
  • Actively acquire new customers, perform on-site demos, build relationships on all levels and follow-up in after sales, including product trainings to customers
  • Detect, organize and attend relevant conferences and trade fairs; represent Distran at all relevant events to introduce our products
  • Collaborate with and report to the General Manager USA
  • Plan, organize and implement marketing actions together with the General Manager USA
  • Collaborate with a multi-functional corporate support team
  • Responsible for data accuracy, input into CRM, preparing proposals and shipping instructions for clients and prospects


Your profile

  • Highly autonomous, you are entrepreneur minded and tackle all topics: account management, sales process management, admin tasks, etc.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position in a Industrial Downstream (Refinery & Petrochemical), Midstream and Upstream selling OEM equipment, non-destructive testing devices, gas detection, or technical equipment sales to industrial sites
  • Degree in a Science, Technical, Business or Industrial Distribution discipline.
  • Experience in Refinery, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas or Energy industry, Maintenance and Turnarounds sales experience preferred.
  • Proven track records in Sales, Business Development and Account management
  • Excellent communicator (both verbal and written) on different client levels. Excellent listening skills
  • Precise, organized, methodical. Strong eye for details

  • West Texas as a preferred location. Locations should be within easy reach of a major airport.
