About the role: We are currently looking for a Project Management - Team Lead with previous experience in the education/assessments sector, to lead a small Project Management team and provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

Flexible working: Pearson is committed to hybrid working practices and has adopted flexible remote and virtual working . Please note: This position requires 2 to 3 days per week in our Nunawading office (Melbourne) and full-time office attendance during peak periods.There isfree parking onsite and the office is walking distance to the train station. This is a great location for those that are not a fan of the city commute.

Our team: Assessment & Qualifications - Pearson Assessment Servicesprovide a comprehensive suite of services to accommodate the secure printing, packing, distribution, data capture and marking for our clients/projects throughout Australia and Internationally. Our highlight is our national assessment services is Pearson’s delivery of services for the NAPLAN program in various territories. We are responsible for the delivery of large-scale assessment and deliver both paper and online assessments to hundreds of thousands of students each year.

This Role Will

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to project managers to implement solutions for existing and new contracts, while remaining within budget.
  • Provide technical and operational support to the business teams when they are developing relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Build on organisational capabilities and take a lead on developing solutions that meet the needs of new or existing clients.
  • Transition proposed solutions into reality where the business has been successful in winning new contracts.
  • On successful program/project initiation recruit, train and create the resource locally to take on the program/project management on a daily basis.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will

  • Hold a PRINCE2 Practitioner level certification (mandatory)
  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally, the duration will vary and at times may require travel up to 4- 6 weeks as and when required.
  • Strong external and internal key stakeholder management, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and experience of working within an IT environment and able to demonstrate the ability to communicate between the needs of a business and translate this to an IT specification for development.
  • Experience in leading a team of Project Managers
