Position Title: Senior Data Architect

Location: Remote

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Architect and Data Warehouse Specialist to join our team on an initial contract from late July/early August through the end of February, with a strong likelihood of extension up to 24 months. This role is critical in supporting our client's post-cutover phase, focusing on day 2 activities, and ensuring the seamless operation and optimization of their cloud and data warehouse environments.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of cloud architecture solutions, primarily utilizing Azure and Snowflake
  • Oversee the migration and optimization of data warehouses, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Provide expert guidance and support in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues related to cloud and data warehouse infrastructure
  • Develop and implement best practices for data management, security, and governance. Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and integrate them into the architecture to enhance performance and cost-efficiency

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in cloud architecture and data warehouse management
  • Expert-level skills in Azure and Snowflake, with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data warehouse solutions
  • Extensive experience in building and migrating data warehouses, with a deep understanding of the associated challenges and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with additional cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Proficiency in other data warehouse technologies like Redshift, BigQuery, or Teradata
  • Knowledge of data integration tools such as Talend, Informatica, or Azure Data Factory
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and delivery

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications in cloud architecture and data warehouse technologies (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Snowflake SnowPro)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
