We’re searching for experienced Engineering Managers looking to apply their technology and leadership talents to help fix America’s largest (and most broken) industry. As an Engineering Manager at b.well, you will be immediately engaged in an opportunity to create impactful solutions that will delight millions of consumers globally.

Team Overview
The Access to Health Data team’s mission centers around the ability for a user to obtain and use their medical records to progress on their health journey. We strive to give users a compelling reason to connect to health records, convert that data into actionable health information, and display this information in an accessible manner.
We want to give our users the ability to take action with their health information to help them take the next step in their health journey.
What You'll Do:
- Coach, manage, and engage with engineers in delivery of solutions throughout the full software development life-cycle
- Attract, hire, and develop high-performing engineering talent
- Collaborate directly with product managers, customers, and cross-functional teams to innovate and execute on an iterative plans that continuously delivers customer value
- Drive delivery of industry leading applications & services to healthcare consumers
- Champion and drive improvements to team software engineering practices
- Help to architect solutions, enable rapid innovation and continuous delivery of Healthcare products, while ensuring high-quality, resiliency, and efficiency in operations
- Foster an inspirational culture of excellence, learning, and fun
- On occasion, step in and write clean, well tested code
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in technology leadership creating & delivering exceptional consumer solutions
- 3+ years of mastered experience in prevalent Web, Cloud, Microservice, and Database technologies serving a high-scale 24x7 internet business
- 3+ years experience leading and managing high performance talent, amidst startup culture
- A successful candidate must be a coach in the code with hands-on, lead-by-example, bias for action for great solutions, architecture, code, processes, and operations
- Proven communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across the organization
- Proven ability to manage high levels of ambiguity with iterative, agile leadership and technology approach
- Experience in applying technology patterns, frameworks, principles, best practices, and skills across the organization, with bias for customer & business value
- Experience in continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous 24x7 operations, and a culture of continuous improvement
- Experience in digital health industry, especially FHIR or HL7
Technology Experience desired:
Note, these are not requirements, experience with similar technologies is sufficient
- Front-End: HTML5, CSS3, ReactJS, AngularJS, NodeJS, GraphQL, Micro Frontend Architecture, MaterialUI
- Mobile: iOS, Android, React Native
- Back-End: Django/Python, NodeJS, NestJS, Flask, Kafka, RabbitMQ
- Languages: Python, TypeScript, Java
- Database: SQL, Mongo, ElasticSearchDB
- DevOps: AWS, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, DataDog, etc
- APIs: WS, REST, JSON, GraphQL
Great to Have:
- EHR integration experience and/or telehealth platform integrations
- Startup experience, for rapid growth
- Enterprise experience, for platform scale
The target salary range for this position is $160,000 - $250,000 and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options, benefits, and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
