Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Senior Director of Data Strategy and Analytics to lead our organization's data initiatives in alignment with our mission and vision. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting data strategy, designing and implementing robust analytics infrastructure, leading both the Analytics Engineering and Data Analytics teams, and driving data literacy and governance across the business. The Senior Director will also collaborate closely with the Head of Data Security to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of our data assets.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the organization's mission, vision, and strategy, leveraging data to drive decision-making and maximize impact for both internal stakeholders and customers.
• Design and implement scalable and secure data infrastructure to support data storage, processing, and analysis.
• Work with the Sr. Manager of Analytics Engineering to lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance in the development of advanced ETL and data transformation processes to support analytical solutions and data-driven insights.
• Work with the Director of Analytics to lead and mentor a team of data analysts, overseeing the development and execution of analytical projects to support key business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with Legal, IT, and the Head of Data Security to establish and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with Research and Analytics team leads and data stewards to improve data discoverability and ensure consistency and efficient use of data across the organization.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and big data management, and provide strategic recommendations for business innovation and responsible use.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.
• Communicate key insights and findings to senior leadership and stakeholders, and advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the data strategy and analytics teams, promoting collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Promote data and AI literacy across the organization by providing training, resources, and support to enable all employees to effectively leverage data in their roles, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in data strategy, analytics, or a related field, with a proven track record of success in designing and implementing data-driven solutions.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Expertise in data management, including data modeling, data governance, and data quality management.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
