We are searching for an Engineering Intern to join our team. In support of the 2023 operations plan for Fender Corona Factory, Engineering Intern will participate in value stream-wide effort to re-establish and sustain our process controls. Activities will include definition of critical-to-quality parameters (CTQs), standard work definition, statistical process control implementation and one-piece flow.

Essential Functions:

  • Use Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis to identify potential process failures
  • Apply Statistical process control methods to monitor and control the quality of a production process
  • Create Yamazumi charts
  • Time studies
  • Capacity Management Analysis
  • Translating manual operations into technical system requirements
  • Correlate operational requirements to system design requirements
  • Connect system design requirements to operational indicators (KPI)
  • Definition of Design verification test plan
  • Lead problem solving methodology (8-steps) for systemic and chronic quality issues
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in BSc or MSc for Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical engineering or similar
  • Currently at senior year or recently graduated
  • 1 year experience in manufacturing environment is preferred but not required
  • Strong collaboration skills are required
  • High energy and positive mind-set
  • Embraces technology application to improve manufacturing processes
  • Enrolled in Industrial, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering Program
  • Motivates and influences others without direct authority
  • Well organized to manage multiple competing priorities in parallel
  • Willing and confident to make commitments
  • Responsive and accountable to deliver on commitments
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
  • General knowledge of woodworking is a plus
  • Spanish language fluency is a plus
