LTS is seeking a highly experienced
Solutions Architect to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). You will work closely with senior managers of our Customer and other architects, business customers, and functional consultants to develop strategies to optimize current and future IT investments and solutions. This includes continuing a comprehensive review of the current state architecture of the customer’s IT systems, assessment of the current vision and plans, and maintaining a future state enterprise IT architecture as conditions change. You will work with other Solution architects and other technical staff. The candidate will use current information as well as your domain knowledge, skills, and experience to analyze information and implement proactive and consultative approaches for managing the Products. The Health PMO support contract provides IT program management, project management, technical management, financial management, functional planning, and documentation analysis in support of the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) Enterprise Program Management Division (EPMD) Health Portfolio.
The VA Health Portfolio is focused on development and execution of quality IT projects that address the needs of Veterans and health care providers through management of health care information and sustainment of production software to keep the mission going.

Responsibilities
- Develop a holistic view of the organization’s current IT architecture, business operations, in-flight technology modernization initiatives and future plans
- Build a trusted advisory relationship with Electronic Heath Record Modernization (EHRM) Product Line Technical Directors, Customers and Subject Matter Experts.
- Build/augment technology roadmaps and runways that align with higher organizational strategies and vision.
- Support and defend the process for new work and change requests.
- Monitor/interpret technology memos/policies/directives from higher leadership and recommend approaches.
- Express and defend personal/team dissenting opinions with clarity and diplomacy.
- Proactively and insightfully report/document delivery of value.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Resource Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields and five (5) plus years of experience managing and providing technical development for complex IT organizations, large and small. An additional 5 to 7 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Over 5 years’ experience as a technical lead or systems or solutions architect
- Experience in Electronic Health Records as a technical lead or systems or solutions architect
- Mature written, oral, and visual communication with sensitivity to the perspectives, limitations, and needs of different audiences.
- Ability to distill/optimize/simplify complex concepts, diagrams, and reports for consumption by different audiences.
- Experience in the design of enterprise technology
- Experience in developing future state architecture
- Experience in researching as-is architectures
- Experience in developing and / or supporting feature-benefit analyses
- Demonstrates ability to tailor recommendations into actionable implementation plans
- Excellent Critical thinking skills
- Excellent Systems thinking skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Well versed in DevSecOps culture, processes, measures, and tooling
- Experience in MS Visio and PowerPoint
- Experienced in collaborative tools including MS Teams, SharePoint, Jira, etc.
Desired Skills
- Experience supporting or leading within the Veterans Affair Office of Information Technology, Veterans Benefits Administration, and/or Veterans Health Administration is a plus
- Prior experience with Cerner Millennium or VistA
- SAFe certified or significant experience in SAFe or a SAFe transformation
- Visual remote collaboration tools
