Your missions

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Services Coordinator on a full-time basis to provide support to our Hotel Services departments at each of our residential aged care facilities across TAS, VIC and NSW. The role comes with the expectation of regular travel for periods of time to the individual homes across the three states as required.

The Position:
This role will be responsible for ensuring Catering, Cleaning and Laundry (Hotel Services) standards are met across your designated portfolio of homes.

Role duties include:

  • Supporting the facilities on the delivery and maintenance of catering, cleaning and laundry service standards across a portfolio of residential aged care homes in multiple states and territories.
  • Providing best practice direction; leadership and management to all hotel service staff across facilities in ensuring holistic care with regards to catering, cleaning and laundry services
  • Providing compliance advice to General Managers and Regional Area Managers on identified areas of concern; risk; and need for improvement in either personnel; process or systems efficiency
  • Managing services delivered by facility-based catering, cleaning and laundry staff to ensure that safe operating procedures are in accordance with relevant legislative requirements
  • Implementing respect systems and checking mechanisms to ensure that Chefs and Cooks establish and maintain systems to ensure each resident’s changing eating needs are met
  • Ensuring all Hotel services meets professional, organizational, legal and ethical standards
  • Implementing, in conjunction with the General Manager and L & D Manager, food safety education and learning calendars to ensure hotel service staff have the necessary job competencies and are provided with developmental opportunities
  • Assisting with the selection, engagement, orientation and training of senior hotel services staff for each Facility when required.
  • Escalating all matters related to compliance issues to the General manager in accordance with Policy and Procedures.
  • Assisting with performance managing senior hotel service staff in accordance with company policies and procedures, in close partnership with the People & Culture Business Partners as applicable 
  • All other duties within capability, as directed by Hotel Services Manager

To be considered for employment with Respect, each candidate must satisfy the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening to ensure suitability to work in the aged care industry.

Requirements

What you can bring to the role:

Essential:

  • TAFE, tertiary qualifications for Chef - essential
  • A qualification in a Management or Catering / Hospitality related course with relevant experience in Catering / hospitality in the Healthcare sector
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • A proven and successful record in a similar role.
  • Experience in managing multi site services across multiple sites and states of Australia
  • Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
  • Sound Knowledge of Food Safety Compliance across multiple states and territories.
  • Current valid Australian driver’s license
  • Vehicle suitable for travel purposes
