The Role

As a Data Engineer at Xiatech you will be designing and building new features for our Xfuze Hyper-Integration and Advanced Analytic Platforms as part of a cross-functional team, including real-time data pipelines, data lake/warehouses, and other innovative tooling.

This role will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with the business team to understand client requirements and map their data into our platform. You will also work closely with our data science and insights team to enrich customer data and build out different data views to support visualisations.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a cross-functional squad to deliver new features using agile methodologies.
• Design and build data warehouses and data lakes.
• Implement data pipelines and complex data flows.
• Model and map client data, build views and materializations for BI/analytics.
• Data Quality engineering,  implementing patterns that clean and enrich data in reliable ways.
• Contribute to peer reviews and engineering tooling, such as dataflow and terraform.
• Work with clients to analyse requirements and implement solutions.
• Help the company continuously improve by contributing to the wider data engineering community, as well as your squad.

Your Knowledge & Experience

• 3+ years experience in Data Engineering/Architecture (or similar).
• Knowledge of different data tooling and data stores.
• Proficiency in SQL & Python.
• Experience working with Spark (PySpark) or similar,
• Building data warehouses & data lakes (Ideally BigQuery).
• Developing real-time Data/ETL pipelines.
• Orchestration frameworks such as Dataform, Airflow, and GCP Workflows.
• Cloud platforms, especially GCP services such as GCS, Cloud Functions, and Dataproc.
• Familiarity with containerization and IaC tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
• Worked within an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc).
• Previous experience in the retail domain or DataBricks is nice to have.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
