In addition to image sharing, which is the heart of the PocketHealth platform, we’ve grown our core functionality to enable sharing between hospitals and physicians, as well as instant image retrieval and automated importing capability. PocketHealth is a unified image management solution for over 600 hospitals and clinics across North America. As a Security Engineer within PocketHealth’s Engineering team, you’ll spearhead the development and enhancement of our cloud security product strategy. Working closely with diverse teams across the organization, you’ll lead the charge in crafting a robust and forward-thinking security strategy for our company-wide cloud operations.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Collaborating closely and building strong partnerships with cross-functional teams to ensure our security framework is aligned with the current needs and priorities of the company
  • Leading the creation of secure reference architectures, frameworks, policies, and patterns to keep our software safe through the entire software development life cycle, including application, mobile, infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Crafting and consistently refining a comprehensive security strategy that encompasses different deployment models, such as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS
  • Exploring and researching next generation security solutions to address vulnerabilities and enhance our current security measures
  • Offering design and architectural guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure the secure development of applications and supporting infrastructure
  • Capturing, evaluating, and prioritizing diverse security requirements and requests
  • Establishing adaptable Cloud architectural patterns and templates, bolstering our security stance through tools, automation, and other methods
  • Reviewing and gaining a deep understanding of industry frameworks, regulations, and standards relevant to healthcare data security
  • Collaborating with other technical teams to find the best security architecture for introducing new solutions, products, and features
  • Creating security solutions tailored to address the specific security demands and regulatory standards of healthcare data

    • What you need to be successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent/similar, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in senior Information Security roles within a complex organization
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and managing security solutions in public cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS, demonstrating deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services
  • Hands-on experience utilizing CI/CD deployment methods and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Extensive experience managing and/or securing with Kubernetes environments
