Software Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

This position requires an individual who is able to architect solutions that are scalable, performant, and align with business goals. This particular position is expected to independently address complex technical issues and optimize existing systems to improve overall efficiency and performance of our software solutions. The incumbent must be able to handle a wide range of complex technical tasks independently, with minimal supervision. The technical concepts learned during a Bachelor’s degree program are critically necessary to enable an individual to understand these tasks.

DUTIES:

• Design and develop web applications using ASP. Net (C#) MVC (Razor) / WebApi and Entity Framework using Visual Studio for modifying the API to adopt additional new calls.
• Work on Web Service API using best design principles and versioning SOA concepts to make sure multiple projects can consume the same APIs.
• Develop Front End responsive UI designs using Visual Studio with client-side technologies like HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript/jQuery frameworks for designing the new UI pages.
• Deploy code and migrate data on Azure Cloud environment for applications using the CI/CD pipelines for multiple environments. Set up and monitor build/deployment plans using Bamboo – Octopus to deploy code into test environments.
• Follow Object oriented programming to build modular and maintainable code libraries. Upgrade, configure, and debug existing systems, translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
• Design and develop web applications using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) design principles to ensure higher availability, better scalability, and high performance.
• Work in AGILE environment to achieve smooth collaboration between self-organizing cross functional teams, participate actively in regular technical triage meetings to share knowledge with other engineers for the better customer services, provide actionable feedback to the engineering teams by isolating software bugs, surfacing customer pain points.
• Work on Micro Services architecture to adhere to the server less code and services can be consumed independent of the Application platform technology.
• Use GIT and ADO to perform source code management and version control tools for better code management & collaboration in a distributed Project environment.
• Work with Azure Client Libraries with Endpoint APIs to provide better performance and flexibility for consumers.
• Utilize fiddler traces to inspect and debug the network traffic for GET and PUT calls and analyze the communication between client and Azure services to help diagnose the specific issue.
• Configure Azure devops in Visual studio 2019 to deploy database changes to other environments instead of relying on running scripts manually via Sql server management studio.
• Perform Continuous Integration using Jenkins and Bamboo for builds and deployments of different versions of applications into various environments.
• Analyze DynaTrace report for improving UI application performance. Ensure the application conforms to security standards. Continuous inspection of code quality using SonarQube which does static code analysis, provides a detailed report of bugs, code smells, vulnerabilities, code duplications.
• Design web applications that adhere to Responsive Web Design (RWD) principles using CSS3, SASS/SCSS and Bootstrap to support all web, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Conduct architecture, design, and code reviews with other team members to ensure code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance and best practices using Collaborator.
• Track development and operational support via user stories and decomposed technical tasks in a provided issue tracking software JIRA. Participate in refinement of backlog tickets and tasks and track issues to get the priority ready for each iteration.
• Develop applications that follow the Test-Driven Development (TDD), Functional Driven Development (FDD) and Business Driven Development (BDD) principles to ensure the application fulfills the requirements and functionalities.
• Work with the back-end API team to communicate data model structures and REST API responses for effective communication between the Backend and Frontend layers.
• Implement technical solutions in Microsoft Azure environments using .NET and other programming languages. Set up and monitor build/deployment plans using Bamboo – Octopus for movement of release code into test environments.
• Work on Microsoft Azure technologies like Azure Synapse Analytics (data warehouse), Azure data factory, Azure Data Lake and Azure Data bricks to create data warehouse for the data to be used by business users.
• Perform integration with Microsoft SharePoint Extension framework to create highly Responsive UI components for Rich user interfaces powered by Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform and SharePoint Content Management capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned within area of responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Information System, or other relevant IT field of study followed by 6 years of progressively responsible experience with Software Engineering or Software Development.

Other required experience:

• 6 years of experience with internet-based application development environment.
• 6 years of OO experience
• 6 years of experience designing multi-tier, highly available, multi-threaded, scalable architectures for large- scale web-based cloud services.
• 6 years of experience with .Net-based application and IIS server.
• 6 years of experience applying architectures and designs that employ design patterns.

This position is 100% remote and may be performed from any location in the US where Exostar has a legal presence (VA, NC, GA, TX, NJ, WA, PA, IL, DC, MD, UT, FL, SC). Travel up to 20% domestic travel to company locations and/or client locations.

SALARY: Competitive salary up to 135,000/Year
