PlayVS is searching for a talented Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and implementing features for our platform, using your expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and GraphQL to create exceptional user experiences.

Here's What You'll Do:
  • Lead the design and implementation of new and complex software features, GraphQL APIs, and backend systems for our platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, designers, and other engineers) to turn product concepts into reality.
  • Work closely with other engineers to develop new features, APIs, improvements, and fixes for scalability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Champion a growth mindset, fostering experimentation, data analysis, and prioritizing tasks based on impact.
  • Contribute to a strong engineering culture by writing clean, maintainable code, reviewing code from others, and improving our test coverage.
  • Demonstrate a deep commitment to understanding our customers and their needs.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts, both verbally and in writing, to various audiences.

    • Here's What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years of experience in product development with a successful track record of building and delivering software products with an emphasis on performance and scalability.
  • Thorough understanding of Node.js and its core principles.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript and its application in large-scale development.
  • Experience with GraphQL and Apollo frameworks.
  • Strong desire to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams (excellent proficiency or fluency in English).
  • Growth mindset: you thrive on experimentation, data analysis, and ruthless prioritization for maximum impact.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.

    • Bonus Point For:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • A passion for esports, gaming, or education technology and the problems PlayVS can uniquely solve.
