SAP BASIS Specialist – 1099 - Remote

BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a 1099 SAP BASIS Specialist contractor position – 100% Remote. Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.

What will you do

As an SAP BASIS Specialist, your role is to install and configure S/4HANA in Microsoft Azure Gov Cloud. This role will support our client’s innovation lab aimed at pursuing opportunities in the Federal, DOD, and IC markets.

Responsibilities:

• Install and configure S/4HANA on an Azure infrastructure.
  
• Restore an exported copy of S/4HANA.
  
• Provide support to team members for configuring scenarios for POC and demo for our clients.
  

• US Citizen
  
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Computer Science or Information Systems from an accredited institution or equivalent.
  
• 10+ years of SAP BASIS work experience.
  
• Demonstrated ability to install, configure, or perform system copy from the beginning with S/4HANA (this is not an SAP ECC installation task).
  
• Completion of 2+ previous SAP S/4 project upgrades.
  
• Hands-on, in-depth SAP BASIS knowledge.
  
• Demonstrated SAP & SAP HANA on Microsoft Azure Cloud experience required.
  
• Ability to work flexible hours based on varying business requirements.
  
• Experience following protocols and standards specific to SAP large scale implementation.
  
• Experience working with SAP support on troubleshooting various issues: understanding the nature of the problem, raising OSS incidents, providing necessary support to SAP analyst to investigate problems.
  
• A self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and a keen desire to learn and expand depth of knowledge.
  
• Demonstrable collaboration and teamwork skills without supervision.
  

Desired

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems, networking, and infrastructure concepts related to SAP environments: OS commands, OS account administration, disk and volume management, file system concepts, LANS, WANS, Routers, DNS, VPN, NAT, TCP/IP protocols, etc.
  
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud concepts (cloud, zones, network load balancers, application load balancers, file-system solutions, etc.).
  
• Understanding of SAP HANA technology, detailed understanding of in-memory computing, backups and restores, BACKINT, SAP HANA Cockpit and SAP HANA Studio, HANA Replication Services solutions.
  
• Excellent verbal/presentation and written communication skills.
  
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of Business and IT.
