SierTek Ltd. is seeking a Junior Architect to support an opportunity remotely.

Position Overview:

The DODAF Architect will work remotely, playing a key role in the creation and implementation of architectural solutions using Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF). This role involves performing detailed systems analysis and design, ensuring that architecture aligns with business objectives and requirements while considering the constraints and capabilities of legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS. The architect will also have a deep understanding of operational and system views and the data to support them.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze and define system requirements, identifying opportunities for architectural improvement.
  • Develop architectural strategies and roadmaps based on DODAF.
  • Translate business needs into system requirements, working closely with the development team to ensure they understand and can meet these requirements.
  • Assist in the application development and rationalization process, ensuring optimal configuration and use of systems.
  • Understand legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS, and ensure that their capabilities and constraints are factored into the architectural development.
  • Ensure information assurance and quality assurance in all architectural applications.
  • Understand and incorporate operational and system views into architectural design.
Qualifications

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years consulting and/or directly relevant industry experience.
    • AA w/7+ yrs
  • Proven experience as a DODAF architect.
  • Experience with refactoring and modernization efforts.
  • Knowledge of and experience with legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS - NATURAL, COBOL, ADABAS, FOCUS.
  • Understanding of operational and system views and the data to support them.
  • Strong knowledge of systems analysis, architectural design, and system administration.
  • Familiarity with DODAF and its application within a business context.
  • Understanding of legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS – NATURAL, COBOL, ADABAS, FOCUS.
  • Experience with refactoring and modernization efforts.
  • Understanding of operational and system views and the data to support them.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and trainings.
  • Must be a US Citizen and located within the continental United States.
