Job description

Freelance Product Designer - Talent Roster

Juniper Creates is a premium, custom merchandise solution for the world’s largest creators. Our mission is to transform commerce by putting world-class product capabilities in the hands of creators and brands. We design, manufacture, market, and ship imaginative products to fans around the world.

We are not actively hiring for this role at the moment, but we are always on the lookout for talented artists. The seasonal nature of the ecommerce industry means that our need for design resources fluctuates throughout the year. In these busy times we reach out to our Talent Roster with opportunities to work on projects that fit your style and skills.

We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about product design and the creator economy. This role is perfect for someone who wants project based responsibilities with brand ownership in a flexible working environment.

What kinds of projects would I work on?

  • Product DesignAlongside the creator and our product development team, you’ll help develop forward-thinking ideas for products, sketches, final art, and manufacturing drawings that will be turned into tangible products. You may collaborate directly with our creators throughout the creative process.

  • Marketing and Packaging Materials – You’ll create immersive visuals for ecommerce stores such as website banners or social media illustrations. You’ll also create branded packaging materials like cards, tags, or boxes for the products you design.

What skills should I have?

  • Portfolio demonstrating excellent illustration and design intuition, a flexible style, and great ideation skills
  • Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator required
  • Ability to distill and embody distinct brand voices through innovative and fun products
  • Keen attention to detail, and the patience to honestly review your own work
  • Friendly, genuine communication style with a team-player attitude
  • Effective time management and respect for others

Anything else I should know?

  • Commitment is flexible. Projects are self directed with support from the Juniper team. You can accept projects based on your availability, but you are responsible for owning those projects once you commit to them.

What happens after I apply?

  • We review every application that comes in. It's likely that you won't hear from us immediately, but we will reach out if there are opportunities to work on projects that fit your style and skills.
