Job Description Summary:

As a cybersecurity engineer focused on penetration testing and ethical hacking with Rocket Software, you are part of a global, fast-paced IT organization with a primary mission to provide world class service to software development labs and internal departments ensuring our employees have access and communication systems to perform at the highest level. The successful candidate will be a highly technical individual with primarily responsible for helping to reduce cyber risk across the company by performing penetration testing and executing ethical hacking projects to identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities in IT platforms. This role will also provide guidance, advice, data and reports on their activities, results and remediations to address cyber risk. Additional responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and resolving security incidences in a proactive way and assisting to support the security technologies that help to protect the company. As this is an opportunity to help build a world class security program in a dynamic work environment, the ideal candidate will be comfortable in a fast changing and fluid environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pen testing and ethical hacking activities focus on company IT networks, systems, applications and data sets both on premise and in the public cloud
  • Deploy and manage testing, scanning and vulnerability discovery tools used in pen testing  
  • Develop playbooks for pen testing focused on specific architectures and technologies
  • Research and analyze a wide range of security capabilities including enterprise detection and response (EDR), network detection and response (NDR), vulnerability assessment and discovery, identity and access management (IAM), data protection solutions and event logging systems (SEIM) in order to understand attack and protection vectors
  • Coordinate with external security partners, such as managed detection and response (MDR) providers on critical security workflows and playbooks
  • Function as a key technical member of the cyber response team supporting the investigation and remediation of cyber events and incidents, red team/blue team/purple team and enterprise tabletop exercises
  • Analyze, assess and test for cyber threats across the IT enterprise
  • Protect Rocket customer and intellectual property (IP) data
  • Develop and present reports that detail approach, analysis techniques, results and recommended remediation

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience performing pen tests and ethical hacking projects against enterprise networks and operating systems encompassing both on premise and cloud technologies.
  • Hands on experience with tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Wireshark, IP/port scanners, computer forensics tools and enterprise vulnerability management tools such as Tenable and Rapid7
  • Experience planning, researching, and developing attack scenarios using OSINT
  • Experience working with secure networks, systems and applications
  • Knowledge of secure cloud practices and frameworks, specifically in AWS and Azure
  • Knowledge of incident response and threat intelligence programs including table top exercise and red/blue/purple team engagements
  • Knowledge of standards and frameworks such as OSSTMM, OWASP, PTES and NIST 800-115
  • Experience providing user guidance, documentation, and consultation
  • Knowledge of secure data architectures best practices  
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, self-motivated, results-driven and well organized.
  • Experience with explosive growth and variable requirements
  • Experience with change and incident management processes
  • Certifications such as CEH, OSCP or PenTest+ are desirable

Annual salary range for this position is between €36,295.00 - €67,405.00 gross before taxes.

Salary offer for the candidate is determined based on the predefined salary ranges for the position and depends on the level of competence and experience of the candidate.
