About the Team: 

We are a close-knit team of 10 lawyers based in the UK, India and Bulgaria. We are one of the most cross-functional teams in the company, helping Tideans accomplish their goals, grow the company and stay compliant. Each team member is a true owner and has a huge impact every day.

About the role:

As a Regulatory and Disputes Counsel at Tide, you will serve as a subject matter expert on a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious regulatory and legal issues governing the fintech space across multiple jurisdictions.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:

  • Helping senior management and business teams navigate complex regulatory frameworks to design, deploy and mature innovative payments and financial products and services.
  • Anticipating regulatory and legal challenges and creatively solving problems to support the business in executing their product roadmap.
  • Helping expand Tide’s global footprint by supporting new market entry initiatives. 
  • Providing support to business teams in relation to implementing regulatory changes and new processes.
  • Drafting and reviewing terms and conditions, policies, procedures, disclosures and external communications.
  • Supporting regulatory advocacy initiatives with industry associations and regulators.
  • Managing ad-hoc civil disputes and developing case strategy, including attend court hearings in the UK if required.
  • Keeping internal stakeholders informed on contentious regulatory developments and strategies.
  • Providing training and education for management and product lawyers on global and regional regulatory developments.
  • Selecting and managing outside counsel effectively.
You’ll be a great fit if:
  • You have a minimum 4+ years of PQE in both contentious and non-contentious regulatory work.
  • Experience in civil litigation is preferred but not required.
  • You are proficient in interpreting, applying, or enforcing the FCA and/or PRA rules and regulations at a payments institution, fintech company or top tier law firm.
  • You are an innovative thinker with a passion for navigating business teams through complex legal challenges.
  • You are a strong individual contributor with effective collaboration skills at all levels within the organization.
  • You have excellent cross-functional communication abilities in an international environment.
  • You are eager to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented business setting.
  • You are comfortable managing ambiguity and making decisions under tight deadlines.
  • You are proactive with a can-do attitude, taking ownership of resolving issues.
  • You have exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • You have meticulous attention to detail with strong drafting and analytical skills.
  • You have a higher education and a degree in law.
