Your missions

The Sr Research Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting financial management and analysis for research projects within St. Jude. This position involves working closely with researchers, project managers, and finance teams to ensure the effective financial administration of research grants, budgets, and expenditures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise to clinical trial teams on budgeting and finance (e.g., negotiating clinical trial contracts, providing financial reports) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage clinical trial forecasting and budgeting process, analyze budget & costs, create related reports, and highlight any gaps/ insights in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clinical site teams, and vendors to support contract negotiations, budget management, processing financial closure of study sites, and query resolution.
  • Provide expertise in maintaining research billing compliance (e.g., billing, payment reconciliations, registration of clinical trial patients, compliance reporting and training).
  • Ensure proper research coding of transactions.
  • Maintain quality database and create reports.
  • Identify opportunities and provide inputs to improve efficiency/ automate current processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

The selected candidate for this role will be required to be onsite full-time for their first 4-8 weeks. Afterwards they may choose to work in-office or remote full-time, with the exception of one anchor week per quarter.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement: Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Progressive years of experience in billing, accounting, finance, budgeting, financial analysis, or related field.
  • Experience Exception: RN with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with clinical trial processess
  • Proven performance in earlier role.
  • Experience with medical billing and coding a plus

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:

  • Certification in clinical research from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) required or must be obtained within one (1) year of assuming the position or within one year of eligibility for the certification.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Sr Research Finance Analyst.
