Job Description Summary

Business Development Manager ROLE
The BD Manager is an important member of the Alira Health Research and Clinical Development (RCD) team. The Manager will be responsible for facilitation and tracking of all client outreach and will attend client meetings (both in person and remotely). The Manager works closely with the other members of the Commercial and RCD team and will provide administrative and strategic support in identifying target clients, potential markets within DACH region, and tracking related information. As a senior member of the RCD team, the Manager will work closely with other team members of Alira Health to solve challenging projects, including creation and management of client-facing materials and presentations, internal communications and may attend industry conferences as needed. This position includes some travel.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with the development of new business for Alira Health’s RCD department, including mainly regulatory, clinical, biometrics, CMC and medical strategy practices.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Alira Health’s range of services, with a focus on RCD services.
  • Prepare and actively execute clients prospections and outreachs in her/his territory (DACH region).
  • Schedule and participate/manage new client teleconferences and meetings, acting as a facilitator for the senior Research and Clinical Development team members.
  • Participate in strategic discussions with other members from Commercial and RCD teams to support Alira Health business growth and expansion.
  • Coordinate proposals and contracts preparation with respective Alira Health teams.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team to leverage marketing campaigns and follow-up with new clients’ requests.
  • Track current and past clients, including follow-up, deadlines, and metrics, utilizing Zoho (or other CRM) and other tools.
  • Assist with the quality control and review process for new business proposals and presentations.
  • Ensure that Alira Health’s CRM system is kept current.
  • Participate or manage in internal, client/sponsor, and other meetings as required
  • Comply with ICH GCP guidelines, FDA regulations, and company SOPs.
  • Manage and resolve conflicting priorities to deliver on commitments.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 
  • BS/BA from an undergraduate program, concentration in either Business or Sciences preferred
  • 3-5 years of clinical research experience in a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) strongly preferred, or biotech/pharma/medical device company
  • Ability to travel
  • Proven ability to be careful, thorough, and detail-oriented
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to problem-solve unstructured or ambiguous challenges
  • Strong command of English and German, both written and verbal
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customer service orientation
  • Expert working knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, yet less structured team environment
  • Outgoing and personable nature with the ability to quickly engage with potential clients and form relationships with new people.
  • Previous experience using a CRM system preferred
