Your Impact

The Windows Engineering team is responsible for the desktop, Windows server and Remote working platforms for Goldman Sachs. The team architects and engineers the Microsoft operating systems and enterprise products such as Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 and Microsoft SCCM, third-party enterprise VDI products such as Citrix XenDesktop and XenServer, as well as multiple custom in-house systems management and software delivery platforms.

As a DevOps Engineer you will work with developers and the engineering staff to oversee the code releases, application support and troubleshooting production issues and bug fixes, combining an understanding of both engineering and coding. Your responsibilities would include, supporting mission critical production systems, creating and implementing systems software to analyzing data to improve existing systems, own the software development lifecycle and have a clear understanding of various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/ CD pipelines).

We are looking for senior Windows DevOps lead with experience in Windows enterprise infrastructure who understand the requirements for global, distributed platforms that require very high levels of uptime. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of professional experience in a software engineering and DevOps role.

How will you fulfill your potential?

• Lead a global team of highly motivated DevOps engineers and collaborate with a global team platform engineers and software developers.
• Planning out projects release cycles and being involved in project delivery decision making.
• Perform root cause analysis for Production issues and implement updates and ‘fixes’ independently or by working with the development team.
• Writing and reviewing code for providing test coverage, integrating automated testing with release processes and define quality thresholds.
• Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes, CICD - by building and setting up new development tools and owning and maintaining production infrastructure.
• Establish and ensure development best practices are implemented and adhered to by the developers.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or similar experience, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics or Communication.
• Hands on experience in designing, developing and testing software in C#; willingness to learn and adopt new languages as necessary.
• The ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, both in writing and orally, as well as the interpersonal skills required to collaborate effectively with colleagues across diverse technology teams.
• Experience developing, deploying and supporting software across the full Continuous Delivery life-cycle.
• Solid experience of version control, continuous integration, deployment, configuration management tools, SRE tools like Prometheus, Kibana and Splunk etc.
• The ability to understand and effectively debug both new and existing software.
• Proficient with git and git workflows.
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Citrix and VDI environments
• Experience in endpoint management tools like Tanium.
• Experience with public cloud environments (AWS Certified Developer or equivalent).
• Experience in Java development software development..
• Experience in Javascript development and Angular or React.
