Bizforce and our medical billing division, MedCore Solutions, is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate WFH US Virtual Medical Assistants o join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing quality healthcare services to patients. This is a permanent work from home position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Triage Calls: Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries
  • Coordinate patient referrals and follow-up care
  • Electronically enter & place approved Radiology & send to facility
  • Electronically enter and dispense approved medications in accordance with state regulations
  • Electronically enter blood & specimen orders through lab interface using EHR (NextGen)
  • Update and maintain electronic medical records
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements
  • Reading/Writing skills to proofread and handle documentation for prior authorizations for medications and procedures.
  • Prior Authorizations for Specialty medications and procedures
  • Checking status of authorizations and orders of DME Equipment
  • Communicate test results to patients
  • Reschedule/Cancel endoscopic procedures. Along with providing prep-instructions.
  • Responds to In-house providers and supports staff questions, requests and concerns regarding the status of patient referrals, care coordination or follow-up status on referrals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with physicians, staff, patients, insurance companies.

Other Details:

Schedule: Mondays - Fridays 8 hr/day; 40 hr/week; Weekend days off

Timezone: CST

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or a Medical Secretary in a virtual healthcare setting
  • Experience in Primary Care, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology practices
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Confident in handling phone calls both inbound and outbound
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports
  • Proficient in using electronic medical record systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with calendar management and scheduling software is a plus
  • NextGen system experience is a PLUS
  • Amenable to work in a graveyard shift
  • Can start immediately or in 2 weeks

  • Internet Connectivity: At least 20-25 Mbps and up wired Internet Connection
  • Back-up Connections & Power Supply: USB sticks, hotspots, signal-based & wireless connections only for back-up
  • Peripherals: Headset with noise-canceling feature
