As VDI SME you will primarily focus on developing, providing support and maintenance for the current VDI environments for which consists of: 

  • Amazon Workspaces  

  • AppStream 2.0 

  • Azure Virtual Desktop  

  • Citrix XenDesktop 

This role requires close collaboration with various internal and external technology and business teams. 

 

Your responsibilities 

 

  • Develop and maintain automated scripts and tools for provisioning, configuring, and scaling VDI infrastructure. 

  • Implement or maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment and updating of VDI environments, ensuring efficient and reliable delivery of desktop services. 

  • Monitor VDI performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal user experience and resource utilization. 

  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and enhance security measures for VDI environments, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry standards. 

  • Assess resource requirements and plan for scalability to accommodate growth in the user base while maintaining performance standards. 

  • Respond to and resolve VDI-related issues promptly, collaborating with support teams to ensure minimal disruption to end-users. 

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for VDI configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures. 

  • Engage with VDI solution vendors to stay updated on latest features, patches, and best practices. 

  • Provide training to IT staff and end-users on VDI usage and best practices, fostering a smooth adoption process.

Your profile 

To be successful in this role you have: 

  • Thorough understanding of Active Directory, including replication and GPOs. 

  • Experience of optimizing Windows Desktop for use in a virtual environment: OS Image management, application package management, PowerShell scripting and automation. 

  • Good knowledge deployment and management of a virtual desktop and application platform. This could include Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, Amazon Workspaces 

  • Advanced knowledge of AWS products, AWS CLI, Azure products and Azure CLI with an emphasis on automation. 

  • Extensive knowledge of Windows operating system overall. 

Furthermore, you are: 

  • Able to analyze and deconstruct technical problems. 

  • Capable to communicate clearly and effectively. 

  • Experienced in working Agile and/ or on a Lean + ITIL environment.

Contract: This is a fulltime position with a permanent contract
