About the role 

The role of the eCommerce Director plays a pivotal role in driving sales, creating an unrivalled customer experience & enhancing brand visibility through strategic marketing initiatives and effective collaboration within internal and external stakeholders. This role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer / CMO.


Roles and responsibilities...

  • Own the demand side of the P&L; in particular revenue and eCommerce budgets / KPIs
  • Having a deep understanding and experience in improving overall user experience, including site navigation, content development, sales channels, and promotional campaigns
  • Lead, own and develop persuasive conversion driving onsite customer journeys (& landing pages) that focus on headlines, designs and seamless UX.
  • Develop a digital trading plan and strategy in line with our commercial targets including launches, consumer moments and commercial best practice tactics.
  • Manage all online activities in relation to traffic acquisition, sales, conversion, a/b testing, and reporting alongside existing agencies.
  • To engage stakeholders and team members in the development of an eCommerce strategy to drive future sales across multiple geographies and customer verticals by orchestrating all aspects of the eCommerce strategy for the brand. Combining sales, marketing technology,
  • Managing all elements of the company website as we strive to reach our future targets and to develop a plan that delivers a superior shopping experience for customers.
  • Lead eCommerce visual merchandising of the store from products to signposting and engaging content that makes a sale today, including the analytical and CRO tools that will help us unlock greater insight to build hypothesis to test and generate incremental output
  • Drive Paid Media (Acquisition) team & agencies to align on the activities you need in order to deliver high volume of high quality traffic to hit our objectives
  • Drive all Customer Retention tactics and support to deliver best practice in CRM, customer insight, loyalty / VIP / membership programmes
  • Build a foundation to share more and better insights to our peer groups
  • Support and Challenge the Technology team to design, develop and deploy the tools you need to deliver your objectives
  • Work closely with the Brand, Creative & broader Product, Ops and Retails teams to deliver company wide objectives
  • Work closely with Data / Finance teams to unlock, customer insight, marketing Insight & business insight which leads to optimisation of the customer journey
  • Provide expertise on current eCommerce industry best practice, with CRO, CAC & LTV focus
  • Positively impact and influence internal stakeholders and external partners;
  • The ability to understand data and use this to make informed decisions and actions based upon this detailed level of understanding and identifying areas of improvement
  • Think like a customer, all the time, every day.

Success in 6 months looks like: 

  • KaChava is on track to deliver YoY net revenues growth.
  • Whole business has clarity on strategic / tactical plan for 2024
  • Reducing CAC and growing net new customers.

Success in 2 years looks like:

  • KaChava is on track to deliver the 3 year sales plan
  • We’re expanding into new international markets, your team has grown and are excited (and inspired) to work with you.
  • DTC net revenue growth whilst growing Amazon & Retail mix


About you
  • 10+ years’ experience in CPG marketing & eCommerce environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing & eCommerce tactics that drive revenue growth and customer acquisition.
  • Deep understanding of marketing analytics and ability to use data and make informed decisions.
  • Deep understanding of branding and the power of brand positioning to make for a winning proposition.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have great understanding of retail, ecommerce and marketing businesses
  • You’re a ‘natural retailer’; obsessed with delivering your promise to customers
  • CRO methodology is at the heart of everything you do
  • Intellectual and emotional intelligence in balanced / equal measure
  • Are a ‘subjective’ thinker in terms of ideas, following your instinct, but you’ll be used to using internal/external data to underpin your ideas with confidence
  • You are independent and self-directed but able to work and lead a team of creative individuals
  • A quick learner who can process lots of information and prioritize action
  • Are an outcomes focused leader, with strong team orientation


Preferred locations: FL, GA, MA, CO, NY, WA, OR, TX, WV, NV, NH, and OH

Compensation: $164,500 – $195,100
