Description

Job Description:
Our Product Development Manager is the focal point of Alpha’s product portfolio and in charge of managing processes related to our common product lineups and lifecycles. The Product Development Manager documents and manages product roadmap initiatives with Alpha’s strategic vendors. Product lifecycle management includes feature/requirements gathering from the customers, documentation of form & function within the solution set, and communications with the Alpha development team and strategic vendor partners.


Job Duties:

  • Contributes to new product ideas and the selection of product enhancements based on market needs and market understanding; develops and leads product launch plans.
  • Translates product strategies into detailed requirements and prototypes, leveraging SDLC and Agile approaches to software and product development.
  • Develop and manage processes for design, integration, test, quality, and marketing as the products move to production and distribution.
  • Manage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for IPTV, Digital Signage, and other common media technology solutions in alignment with overall company strategy and business goals.
  • Gather, manage, and prioritize market and customer insights and requirements for the success of the products. He/she acts as a customer advocate articulating the user’s and/or buyer’s needs.
  • Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure business case and customer satisfaction goals are met.  
  • Directly support Alpha’s client-facing projects when new or developing products are being introduced to the market.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Up to 20% travel


Required Experience In:

  • Product Management and Product Development processes and best practices, to include managing projects using Agile and SDLC best practices.
  • Direct customer engagement and collaboration on the product development lifecycle.
  • Leading a collaborative, cross-functional team in achieving documented business goals.
  • Working directly with a Sales team in business development or sales enablement.
  • Familiarity with media technology such as AV over IP, IPTV, Digital Signage, broadcast production, audio, and control systems.


Preferred Experience:

  • Digital Signage / IPTV markets and competitive landscape.
  • Advising on the acquisition, design and integration of digital signage systems, LED display walls and other related equipment.
  • Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, and other written materials.


Education/Knowledge:

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in business, computer science or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Four years of professional product management experience, preferably in a digital signage or multi-media environment.


Licenses:

  • Must possess a valid class C driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.


Physical Demands:

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment, including a computer; strength to lift and move computer hardware components weighing up to thirty pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communication in person, before groups and over the telephone.
