We're searching for a Senior Software Engineer with at least five years of demonstrated hands-on experience to help create the technology platform for an innovative B2C startup that is now a publicly traded company.
We're looking for bright, ambitious, and highly capable people that can thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment while working with advanced technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide development, quality assurance, and operational support for SDC’s website, mobile application, and backend services with emphasis on financial sub-systems
  • Analyze and define system requirements, break down complex problems into smaller units of work, and deliver functional, mature, and well-tested code
  • Implement software industry best practices and mature technology solutions that focus on system performance, resiliency, security, and availability at enterprise scale
  • Remediate production downtime issues and employ root cause analysis of system flaws to minimize impact and prevent future occurrences
  • Understand and practice modern patterns of object-oriented code reusability and abstraction (SOLID, etc.)
  • Provide thought leadership on application development, mentor junior developers, and engage in peer code reviews
  • Actively engage and collaborate, problem solve, and provide proactive visibility on the status of deliverables
  • Document workflows, architecture, and code, and develop runbooks for operations belonging to your technical domain
  • Participate in code deployments
Qualifications:

A highly qualified candidate will have experience with the following. Note that while these items are preferred, candidates with deep, senior-level experience in similar technologies, languages, and frameworks may be considered.

  • Modern programming language proficiency (particularly .NET Core and Python) and associated frameworks
  • Modern javascript frameworks (e.g. VueJS, Angular, React)
  • Relational (e.g. PostgreSQL) and Non-Relational (e.g. DynamoDB)
  • Database Management/Query Insights
  • Cache management (e.g. Redis)
  • Microservices and Micro-UIs
  • Asynchronous and Event-Driven Architecture
  • Git/GitHub/GitFlow
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
