Description

The Parent Child Center of Northwestern Counseling & Support Services seeks individuals with experience working with families and a desire to work in early childhood. Early Intervention is a special education service for infants and toddlers with developmental delay(s), or medical/genetic conditions that place them at risk of developmental delay(s). The Developmental Educator models, coaches, and supports a child’s caregivers to use strategies identified in the child’s One Plan to help the child develop and learn. Developmental Educators coordinate services, develop strategies, and/or provide specialized instruction caregivers can implement within the child’s daily routines to improve the child’s functional skills.

Developmental Educators:

  • Provide family support, parent education, and service coordination to address child and family goals.
  • Are able to provide supports in homes, childcare, as well as team settings.
  • Provision of telehealth services to children and families.

Ideal applicants will have:

  • Knowledge of child development birth to three; knowledge of developmental delays and children with medical/genetic disorders.
  • Previous experience in Early Intervention, early child development, childcare, and/or human services & social work.
  • Knowledge of Children's Integrated Services (CIS) and the early childhood system of care for infants, toddlers, and their families.
  • Training in screening and assessment tools.

Excellent communication and organizational skills; reliable internet connection at home; and a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for transportation.

Qualifications
