Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room before surgeries, ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies are readily available and properly sterilized.
- Assist surgeons, gynecologists, and other medical professionals during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing instruments and supplies as required.
- Monitor patients vital signs and communicate any significant changes to the surgical team promptly.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile environment in the operating room.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and waste in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Assist in positioning and transferring patients safely on the operating table.
- Prepare and maintain surgical equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in optimal working condition
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and anesthesiologists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in the proper documentation of surgical procedures, patient records, and any other relevant information.
- Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and safety guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- Relevant educational background and certification as an Operation Theatre Technician or a similar field.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with the surgical team.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients.
