The ideal candidate will have expertise in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District Law. The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option and an annual telecommute budget to support remote work. Attorneys are required to meet a billable hour requirement of 1850 and are eligible for competitive health insurance benefits, 401(k) with a partial match, and annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses. Duties:Provide legal counsel and representation to municipal clients on a wide range of issues, including general governance, land use, and public worksAdvise on matters related to code enforcement, zoning regulations, and land use planningHandle negotiations, drafting, and review of contracts, ordinances, and resolutionsRepresent clients in administrative hearings, trials, and appellate proceedingsResearch and analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic advice and recommendationsAssist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including agreements, pleadings, and motionsCollaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective legal strategies and solutions Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, preferably in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, or related fieldsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolActive membership in good standing with the State Bar of California or ability to waive into California BarStrong understanding of municipal law principles, regulations, and proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated commitment to client service and professionalism Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Certifications:Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California Skills:Legal research and analysisContract negotiation and draftingLitigation and dispute resolutionClient counseling and communicationAttention to detail and organizationTeamwork and collaboration Founded over nine decades ago, this family-owned firm specializes in a wide range of practices, including constitutional law, intellectual property, family law, real estate, public law, employment litigation, construction, insurance, data privacy, and others.
