Senior Software Engineer

We're looking for a talented and experienced senior software engineer to join the Delta team!

You will be working on developing, maintaining, and scaling the data & software powering our Delta platform. The Delta mobile application is written in React Native and the desktop app is written in React, using Next.js. Our tech stack mostly consists of Typescript (on node.js). We also have some specialized microservices in Goland and Rust, but having experience with JS is a must. Data is persisted in MySQL and DynamoDB, we also leverage Redis and ElasticSearch for performance reasons, where needed. Using Github Actions as CI/CD, our code gets tested, linted and scanned for security issues before it gets deployed to production (which can happen multiple times per day). All this lives in the AWS cloud, leveraging infrastructure as code. In short, you'll be responsible for our backend platform powering the Delta apps, serving massive amounts of users. You'll be working in our office in Ghent, Belgium. We're located right in the city center in a gorgeous historic building, which is pretty cool. Psst... no worries if you can't speak Dutch, we're used to communicating in English. Not looking for remote positions though.

Requirements

Career:

• BS (or higher, e.g. MS or PhD) in Computer Science, 3y+ of relevant work experience
• Ability to diagnose technical problems, debug code and automate routine tasks
• Analytical approach coupled with solid communication skills and a sense of ownership
• You have a solid grasp of common software engineering practices, amongst others modern design patterns, test-driven development, continuous integration and continuous deployment.
  

Good knowledge of and experience with:

• Typescript on Node.js, MySQL, Redis
• AWS platform, Linux
  

Other non-required pluses:

• time series-oriented database systems
• Blockchain development
