The ideal candidate will have expertise in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District Law. The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option and an annual telecommute budget to support remote work. Attorneys are expected to meet a billable hour requirement of 1850 and will receive competitive health insurance benefits, a 401(k) with a partial match, and are eligible for annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses. Duties:Provide legal advice and representation to municipalities, government agencies, and special districtsDraft and review contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documentsAdvise clients on compliance with municipal codes, regulations, and state lawsRepresent clients in administrative hearings, arbitration, and litigation proceedingsAssist with land use planning, zoning, and development mattersHandle matters related to code enforcement, including violations and penaltiesResearch legal issues and prepare memoranda and opinions for clientsNegotiate agreements and settlements on behalf of clients Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law in General Municipal LawExperience in Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District Law preferredJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the California State Bar in good standingStrong analytical, research, and writing skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Certifications:Admission to the California State Bar in good standing Skills:Legal research and analysisContract drafting and negotiationLitigation and dispute resolutionLand use planning and zoningCompliance with municipal codes and regulationsClient counseling and representation Founded over nine decades ago, this family-owned firm specializes in a wide range of practices including constitutional law, intellectual property, family law, real estate, public law, employment litigation, construction, insurance, data privacy, and others.
