Job Description

I. Job Summary**

In partnership with SES and Area leadership, responsible for delivering industry leading maintenance performance and asset utilization. Responsible for delivering excellence in cost, equipment availability, asset utilization, shop productivity management and performance improvements and fleet compliance. Works with SES and Area Leadership to implement WM Fleet strategy, WM standard processes, and best-in-class supplier relationships. _**

This position is a remote opportunity however the preferred location is Houston, TX.

_ II. Essential Duties And Responsibilities**

  • Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
  • Manage effective utilization of vehicle assets.
  • Implement cost reduction, customer and employee initiatives that drive value and support key company goals and strategic objectives.
  • Implement long-term plans into day-to-day operations.
  • Implement planning activities to optimize ROI through effective training and utilization of people and assets.
  • Implement maintenance action plans that utilize cost drivers of the business and performance metrics to effect change.
  • Implement key processes to effectively drive profitability and improve fleet performance
  • Monitor the effectiveness of relevant company programs by tracking and offering timely feedback to improve performance.
  • Manage maintenance manager and team to ensure performance and cost focus across the MSA.
  • Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.
  • Ensure vendors meet WM’s standards and approved for vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.
  • Comply and ensure adherence to WM’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in budget process as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding fleet assets.
  • Prepare and conduct all interviews for management positions and follow hiring procedures per WM hiring policies. Ensure that all current maintenance mangers are also in compliance with the WM standards in their interviewing and hiring procedures for staff positions.
  • Conduct and/or attend and contribute to periodic driver/safety meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among all employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Update and submit required reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all BU’s maintenance activities.

III. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. **

Education and Experience** - Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience required. - Experience: 8 years of prior work experience (in addition to education requirement) in Operations Management including at least three years managing a team of two of more individuals also having experience in safety, OSHA knowledge, financials, customer service, health & safety. - Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements - None required. - Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Ability to effectively present and communicate content both verbally and written. - Pre-assignment and/or pre-hire customer-specific drug and/or alcohol testing may be required by certain customer-contract requirements. The expected salary range for this position is $114,845.00 - $174,950.65. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. _In addition, this position is eligible for a 25% annual target bonus.

This job operates in a mix between an office environment and plant/field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. **
