This position is a leadership role which takes direct ownership of end-to-end program management and the success of both technical and commercial outcomes for complex, strategic programs. This role is responsible for end to end program ownership and ensuring the highest levels of communication and alignment across both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a rigorous focus on commercially successful delivery. Operating in a complex and highly technical environment spanning both hardware, software and platforms, the position requires a demonstrable experience in managing in complex technical environments, but also business and process oriented and requires a high degree of skill in the scoping, definition, and execution phases of programs. While we have offices in Carlsbad, Irvine, Milpitas, and Richmond, we have a hybrid work environment that facilitates radical flexibility.Objectives of this Role - Rapidly build, manage, and set direction for program initiatives - Develop program management practices and principles applied in particular to focusing on business value outcomes and implementing protocols and practice around risk management across all projects and programs - Build effective structures to co-ordinate in a matrix, geographically dispersed environment across multiple project teams, ensuring program goals are reached - Build effective communication protocols to inform and align senior stakeholders and all program participants and stakeholders internally and externally - Develop and manage effective program milestones and their respective deliverables - Identify and solve systemic, program specific problems, influence, and build strong relationships. Partner with Product Management and Engineering to define needs to support strategic planning and execution as well as metrics, program requirements, and scope
Responsibilities - Manage engineering teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and ensure cross functional focus and accountability on outcomes - Identify key requirements needed from cross-functional teams and external vendors, ensuring transparency and accountability - Work with engineering teams to ensure timely delivery of product development objectives Analyze, evaluate program risks & mitigation plans, resource planning, and actively strategize on program execution - Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
Desired Experience - Proven track record in delivering complex SW programs to market - Experience creating and managing detailed program schedules - Experience brining SW products from concept to production - Experience managing complex programs across multiple disciplines, including engineering, production, subcontractors, marketing, sales, & distribution, and at varying positions in the value chain - Working knowledge of product development processes (including phase gates) - Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels in an organization, including C-level
Desired Qualifications - BS in Engineering, or equivalent experience - 5+ years of software development and/or technical product/program management experience - 5+ years leading teams to deliver technical programs or products from inception to delivery - Proficiency in MS Project and/or SmartSheet - Proficiency in Jira
