JOB FUNCTION:

  • Under minimal supervision, perform evaluation, maintenance, and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity on interior aircraft components and inserts. Provide an efficient and effective repair service that continuously meets or exceeds all legal, contractual, company, and departmental obligations and objectives. Work from approved technical documentation and verbal instructions to make repairs and assure compliance to all quality and specification requirements. Perform simple machining operations. Participate in continuous improvement activities.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:

  • Perform teardowns, overhaul, and functional testing of all interior aircraft components (ovens, refrigeration’s, beverage makers, etc.)
  • Make checks and adjustments required for proper functional operation of components
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair customer equipment in accordance with approved documentation
  • Ensure that all repair work is carried out in accordance with approved data and conforms to all quality standards and specifications
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for all repair work in accordance with company standards and customer requirements
  • Respect and work to meet contractual deadlines (i.e. turnaround time)
  • Ensure that the appropriate training is obtained to maintain the correct knowledge in all regulations, procedures, and processes required to effectively carry out the job function
  • Understand and comply with legal obligations within the scope of the job function
  • Inform supervision of all occurrences affecting the operation or the effectiveness of the FAA Repair Station
  • Ensure expeditious completion of required tasks and analyze daily situations to determine priorities and communicate ideas
  • Perform preliminary inspections on basic component and inserts repairs.
  • Facilitate training
  • Perform simple machining operations
  • Interact with others to resolve problems and communicate expected deviations to management.
  • Communicate effectively with management and others within the Repair Station to ensure timely completion of assigned duties
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, comply with safety rules and procedures, use protective equipment as required, and be alert for unsafe conditions
  • Perform other duties as required
  • TYPICAL TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT INVOLVED:

  • Drills, rivet guns, torque wrenches, micrometers, screwdrivers, pliers, vertical mills ,drill press and any other tools or test equipment required in the repair of aircraft components or inserts
  • KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently use all tools and test equipment used in the repair of aircraft components or seats
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to individual part level on complex components
  • Ability to clearly communicate both written and verbally in English (per FAA requirements) to include the ability to read and interpret company documents, such as: safety rules, operating procedures, engineering drawings, work orders, and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet all quality standards with little supervision
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to use a computer to enter and retrieve information as necessary
  • KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:

  • Knowledge of aerospace/airline maintenance practices
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
