Job Description:

Overview:

The incumbent in this position will perform experimental and modeling research on the subject of transient multiphase flow and heat transfer in geothermal drilling, and carbon transport and injection, prepare reports, papers for publication in archival journals, and assist with testing plans. Assist with preparing scientifically meritorious papers.

Job duties for Research Associate 3:

Perform experimental and modeling research on the subject of transient multiphase flow and heat transfer in Geothermal Drilling. Perform research and development on the subject of transient multiphase flow and heat Transfer in geothermal drilling.  Assist with drilling design and contingency plans using experimental and simulation results. Assist with testing plans. 

Assist with preparing scientifically meritorious research papers for publication in journals and conference proceedings. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Postdoctoral Researcher:

Bachelors in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engr, Chemical Engr, nuclear Engr or related degree and 2-4 years related experience and coursework in discipline/specialty area. Degree substitution: a master's degree in a related field.  Specific experience: experience in computational modeling and simulation is a must. Good communication skills are required. Experience in modeling and simulating fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbores, thermodynamics, transient multiphase flow is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications for Postdoctoral Researcher:

Master's in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engr, Chemical Engr, nuclear Engr or related degree with 0 years of experience.  Specific experience: Strong experience in computational modeling and simulation. Good communication skills are required. Must have published in this field in archival journals. Experience in modeling and simulating fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbores, thermodynamics, transient multiphase flow is preferred. Candidates with research experience and solid publication records on the topics of modeling and simulating fluid flow and heat transfer in wellbores, thermodynamics, transient multiphase flow are preferred.
