Enterprise Learning is responsible for building new capabilities critical to our firm's strategy at speed and scale, ensuring our home-office associates and branch team members are reskilled and upskilled to deliver industry-leading comprehensive planning and advice. Canada Learning operates as a durable team that serves Canadian specific priorities and Canadian specific enduring programs.
The Leader, Learning and Performance Strategy is accountable to lead development and execution of learning strategies and roadmaps for several portfolios ensuring integration and alignment with firm business needs, enterprise strategy and regulatory environment. You will execute strategic priorities and lead cross-functional teams to deliver business impact through strategically sequenced, continuous learning and performance initiatives that optimize performance and sustain targeted behavior change. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic vision and long-term development of learning and performance professionals in service to Learning value delivery. **
Key Responsibilities**
- Ongoing responsibility to consult and collaborate with stakeholders to drive learning strategy and framework for professional development programs at all levels that build skills and capability, and support current and future organizational talent needs
- Lead functional execution of learning intake to assess learning needs and resources from across the organization, including prioritized workstreams, region consultation and branch advisory.
- Employ a performance consulting approach to identify and address performance gaps, participate and represent learning in the strategic business plan development, ongoing business meetings and in decisions with stakeholders.
- Establish trusted partnerships as a consultant to business and functional leaders throughout the organization, employing diplomacy, objectivity, and learning sciences to strategize, influence, prioritize, plan, and deliver learning and performance experiences that improve overall firm performance
- Collaborate with and influence business and functional leaders as a learning and performance leader, providing well-informed and strategically critical inputs into firm strategic planning and identifying opportunities for learning and performance to yield measurable business outcomes
- Lead the establishment and ongoing monitoring of learning and performance measures and outcomes across the Canada business segment, analyzing trends to adjust learning strategy and design as needed
- Lead a team of learning and performance professionals to deliver results (people and process leadership) via strategy, influence, prioritization, planning, and delivery of learning and performance experiences that improve overall firm performance
- In alignment with Enterprise Learning Strategy, build, guide, and lead a team of learning and performance associates to design and deliver high impact talent development learning experiences that yield needed and sustained performance results
- While leading in a matrixed environment, facilitate associates' development of strategy, design, and delivery capabilities through formal development plans, professional development opportunities, on-the-job coaching, and performance support.
- Establish a culture of continuous learning within Learning, leading internal talent development, change management, and growth mindset initiatives to increase associate engagement and enable rapid capability building
- Collaborate with other leaders in Enterprise Learning and Canada Business Unit to strategize, plan, and execute on operations. Use external research and value delivery plans to inform capability strategy; use development needs and progress to inform project resourcing and opportunities
- Propose and collaborate on developing new or modifying existing firm policies to propel our ability to develop differentiated skills through our associate population
- At times, serve as a learning experience designer to design, develop, curate, and deliver impactful, fit-to-purpose learning and development initiatives that achieve business outcomes while remaining responsive to individual development goals and building learners' intrinsic motivation to continuously learn and improve.
- Advocates and champions learning within the business and proactively contributes to creating an organizationally integrated function that is scalable, flexible, efficient, and effective
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned
- Occasional travel could be required not to exceed 25% of the time
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Learning & Development, Education, Organizational Psychology, Human Capital Management, or related field
- 5+ years in corporate learning, performance consultation, or similar role
- 3+ years of experience leading learning and performance initiatives that achieve business objectives
- 5+ years of people leadership experience with proven experience successfully leading associates in a matrixed environment, providing coaching and development to a variety of levels
- Adult Education Certification
- Brinkerhoff Architect Certification required within first 12 months
- Financial Services Industry experience preferred
- Financial Services Professional Designation(s) preferred. (CFP, QAFP, PFA, CIWM, etc.)

- Proven ability to design and curate high-performance learning journeys
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and processes in a dynamic, matrix environment with a complex map of stakeholders
- Knowledge of change management
- Proven ability to establish trusted partnerships as a consultant to colleagues and senior leaders, employing objectivity and learning sciences to influence leadership decisions and achieve outcomes
- Proven experience using Design Thinking and User Experience Research Principles and Methodologies to develop learning and performance strategies
- Knowledge of Learning Sciences, Instructional Design, and Modern Learning Experience Tools and Methodologies
- Proven ability to identify opportunities for learning and performance professional development that yields measurable business outcomes
- Proven ability to establish and monitor learning and performance measures, analyzing trends to adjust learning strategy and design as needed
- Applied understanding of Systems Thinking, Root Cause Analysis, and Problem-Solving Methodologies to recommend learning solutions to complex performance challenges
- Bilingual (Fluency in English/French) is an asset
