We’re looking for passionate and experienced VFX artists to join our AAA art team based in the US. You will have the opportunity to work alongside dev teams responsible for producing some of the top-selling and critically acclaimed AAA franchises in the entertainment industry today. As a VFX Artist, you’ll be responsible for contributing at multiple phases of development by authoring and implementing visual effects to efficiently achieve high quality game content that exceeds studio and fan expectations.
This team is based out in the Seattle, WA area. Local candidates are preferred, but remote work is possible for the right candidate.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with the development team though all phases of the game development pipeline from pre-vis to final delivery of polished assets.
- Author new visual effects in multiple development pipelines, varies based on project.
- Author and optimize materials and VFX systems.
- Ensure that our VFX systems operate at or under our performance budget.
Required Qualifications:
- A strong portfolio that showcases the fundamentals of particle motion, physical behaviors, lighting and polish.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or Unity 3D and a variety of VFX content authoring tools such as:
- 3D software packages and pipelines (Maya, 3DS Max, Blender)
- Simulation software (Houdini, Embergen, FumeFX)
- 2D Creation and Editing software (Photoshop, Illustrator, 2d concepting packages)
- Familiar with node-based VFX systems.
- A good sense of timing as it relates to VFX and an artistic eye.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 yrs industry experience working on performant AAA quality real-time particle effects on current generation hardware.
- Experience with proprietary game engines.
- Technical knowledge of shader systems and scripting systems. (Python, Lua, etc.)
- Avid gamer who understands industry leading visuals and consumer expectations.
- Passion for art, innovation, and technology.
