AAA Remote
As a Senior Environment Artist/World Builder, you will report to the Lead Environment Artist and will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver on our client’s requirements for environment art and in-engine world-building. Client requirements vary depending on the client and project, but a passion for end-to-end AAA environment creation and collaborating with others will be core to this role. Our Senior Environment Artist/World Builder should thrive in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment and enjoy the challenges of creating unique solutions depending on our clients’ needs.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our various team’s across the globe to help build cohesive and immersive experiences, from initial block out to final in-game polish.
- Contribute innovative and original ideas towards all aspects of content production.
- Work directly with clients to understand their needs when required.
- Work with the team to develop solid estimates, pipelines, schedules, and production plans.
- Demonstrate, communicate, and exemplify clear expectations for quality of work, productivity, communication, and professionalism to the team.
- Able to evaluate the quality of content during production against our client’s requirements and internal best practices, and provide clear feedback to our team of production artists when needed.
- Assist in the creation of project documentation, specifications, pre-production materials etc. as required for full content development.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying the project’s requirements and visual direction to other team members throughout all phases of development.
- A passion for creating immersive environments that tell compelling and interesting stories.
- At least 5 years of industry experience with at least one title shipped in a similar role.
- Hands-on Maya modeling and texturing experience, and ability to use a dev kit for in-engine testing and optimization will be core to this role.
- An in-depth understanding of next-gen game content development processes, tools, pipelines, scene management, limitations, and dependencies.
- Deep knowledge of current generation game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity, and experience creating blueprints to support the world building process.
- Proven ability to produce end-to-end next-generation environments/world content in a variety of styles for play on multiple platforms.
- Experience in all phases of production and planning of environments such as block-out, asset lists, assembly, lighting, polishing, and optimization.
- Proactive and self-motivated, can work with minimal supervision or direction.
- Ability to work remotely with other remote team members, with core hours overlapping our team in the US.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
