We are seeking Geotechnical Technician to support our Oakville and Toronto offices. The successful candidate will be working on projects across Ontario.

Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations, analyze soil samples and collect field data in an accurate and well organized manner
- Traveling to various survey or project sites and obtaining soil samples at various depths using specialized drilling equipment
- Oversee drilling activities and collecting soil and/or groundwater samples
- Work on multiple projects, to support execution of scope/budget/schedule to meet client expectations
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the project team
- Collaborating with construction staff including structural engineers, architects and landscapers.
- Conducting field work associated with a wide range of geotechnical projects including, borehole drilling, test pitting, independent field reviews of various stages of civil construction, observing and monitoring work practices on construction and development projects.
- Technical interpretation of specifications and drawings
- Filing and management of all project related field notes including some data entry and preparation of field reports
- Analysis of data and preparation of technical reports, work plans, and project specifications.
- Coordinate and liaison with contractors, clients and regulators
Skills & Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in related engineering field. Registration as CET or EIT in Ontario, or eligibility for registration is required.
- Relevant coursework or engineering work experience in soil and rock mechanics, site investigation methods and laboratory test procedures
- Experience conducting materials testing, including compaction testing and geotechnical laboratory testing (grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, unit weight)
- Knowledge of gINT, AutoCAD, soil analysis software and databases as required
- Familiarity with total station and RTK GPS survey methods
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with the project team
- Physical ability to walk over rough terrain, climb ladders and lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
