Job Description
As a PD Academy Hardware Engineer, the candidate will be required to understand product requirements and derive them into functional components and test steps to validate up to production. **
Responsibilities**
- Operates 3D Software modeling CATIA/TC/TcVIs with speed and efficiency.
- Generates quality CAD concepts and alternatives in a timely matter.
- Applies automation tools as applicable.
- Works directly with tools shops and suppliers to resolve feasibility, appearance, attribute, and functional issues.
- Creates/manages assemblies, drawings, motion files etc.
- Creates/manages vehicle environment with complete systems interfaces.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
BS in engineering degree required (BSc Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or equivalent)
High English proficiency (reading, writing and speaking).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel and Power Point, etc.).
3D CAD software tools knowledge.
General knowledge of vehicle functions and interaction between systems.
Knowledge of materials properties.
Knowledge on production and manufacturing processes.
Awareness of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) system.
Working knowledge of failure mode analysis, root cause analysis **
Preferred Qualifications:**
MS degree in engineering (MSEE, MSME or related engineering)
Awareness of CAE Methods (FEA or CFD)
Coursework in sound and/or mechanical vibration
Coursework on thermodynamics and heat transfer.
Knowledge of statistics
Familiar with programming languages like Python, Java, VBA or MATLAB.
DMAIC/DFSS/Robustness Tools working experience desirable.
