Viridian Staffing is looking for an outgoing, detail-oriented Staffing and HR Specialist for our fast-paced, global Recruiting and HR Consulting firm in the Cannabis and Hemp industry. Please note that while this position is remote, you do need to be located in the Eastern Standard Time zone and there will be some days that start at 6 am EST.


Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing (www.viridianstaffing.com) is the original, professional staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.


With your energetic attitude and great customer service skills, you'll be one of the individuals responsible for answering Viridian Staffing's mainline and directing calls to the appropriate Viridian departments. You'll be responsible for reference checks of candidates, along with running background checks when needed. You'll assist with the onboarding of temporary staffing workers and employee relations issues, so you have some HR experience as well. With your sense of urgency, you will assist the recruiting team in the timely scheduling of phone, virtual and on-site interviews, along with calling candidates for job assignments. You will be responsible for ensuring that all employees have time entered and will handle payroll responsibilities. You will also get the opportunity to help build Viridian's Talent Network of top talent, so ideally your goal is to move eventually into a Recruiter and/or HR Generalist position.


Ideally, you bring with you a Bachelor's degree in HR OR 2+ years of experience as a Human Resources, Staffing, or Recruiting Assistant / Coordinator. You have proficiency with G-Suite and with Microsoft Word & Excel. You also must either have payroll experience or a passion for learning how to run payroll for a larger organization. This is a remote position, so you are motivated, self-driven and have a place in your home where you can work with little/no interruptions. With your excellent verbal and written communication skills, you're comfortable being on the phone and typing up to 8 hours/day. You are also known for your attention to detail and thus have excellent proofreading skills. This position will mostly be 8 am - 5 pm local time, however, there will be some early morning hours/late evening hours periodically to help service our clients in other countries. International and domestic travel and working at trade shows is also required for this position, so you must be able to sit and stand up to an 8-hour day. Most of all- You must be interested and excited about working in the Cannabis Industry!
