The successful candidate will demonstrate in-depth experience with numerous aspects of SAP
Business Objects (BO) to include platform architecture and administration, security model, universe
and front-end report design, and application integration utilizing the Business Objects Software
Development Kit (SDK). The candidate will support SAP Business Objects as a shared service
across the enterprise with diverse data sources such as IBM DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata,
AWS Redshift, and others. The successful candidate will deploy and support integration and
onboarding of business applications into a shared multi-tenant global Business Objects environment.
Solid awareness of Information Security standards and policies are preferred to ensure all deployed
objects and configuration settings are highly secure and available. The candidate will work directly
with systems and software engineers and architects to implement solution designs in a large
complex worldwide enterprise.
Your Role Accountabilities
Maintaining BO architecture documentation, administration, upgrade, and patching support.
Maintaining prompt remediation to BO-related Info-Security threats and vulnerabilities
Providing guidance and enforcing consistent policies for design and development of system
connectivity and architecture, Information Design Tool, universes, and reports for new and
existing tenant applications integrating into the shared global BO environment.
Interacts with other internal departments such as database administrators, web technologies,
identity management, and outside consultants to deliver scalable and highly effective analytic
solutions.
Promotion of reports/universes/users along with security settings from lower to higher-level
environments following Change Management processes.
Installing and configuring client connectivity to different databases like HANA, DB2, Oracle,
SQL Server, Teradata, AWS Redshift
Building WEBI, Crystal reports and Universes based on project demand.
Design and implement security by creating user groups, granting access to BO based
applications to users and adding security restrictions (application level, folder level, and
object level) based on user profile and user groups.
Create access levels (Developer, Reporter, Viewer, etc.) based on project and business
needs.
Tracking, troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of End User incidents and tickets;
resolves customer issues within the service level agreements.
Participates in and contribute to the implementation of best industry practices
SAP BO expertise in solution architecture and management from the platform side
IT Infrastructure knowledge so the complete solutions can be operated

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts research on software products to justify recommendations and to support
purchasing efforts.
Leads the planning, implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure solutions and
platforms that perform to defined functional and operational expectations.
Delivers high-quality IT architectural systems and infrastructure designs with an eye for
building the designed systems accounting for existing technical debt, any development
bottlenecks and architecture initiatives to drive service delivery, optimize cost and support
established business goals.
Establishes and maintains technical security architecture, availability, overall performance,
and maintenance activities.
Communicates and accurately documents all architectural decisions, plans, goals, and
functional requirements.
Serves as the IT architect and technical lead for service delivery of the scope of the built
system by designing, reviewing, and overseeing implementation of end-to-end integrated
systems, enterprise data and metadata structures, as well as internal systems such as
product deployment and licensing.
Contributes to the definition of the product strategy and BI Target Enterprise Architecture by
collaborating with other technical leads, project managers, business relationship managers
and business analysts on a project team and across the organization.
Identifies and proposes new BI ETA standards (products, master solutions and services).
Ensures high quality by establishing a baseline and monitors technical metrics (i.e., code
coverage, performance, scalability) that report the overall health of newly built IT systems.
Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts. Stays up to date on future
innovations, technical trends and applies this to direct future changes. Has knowledge of the
solutions available as well as best practices for the business processes.
Runs complex projects ensuring they are completed on time and within budget with only
general direction from management.
Serves as an IT project manager for small-medium sized projects overseeing resources
assigned, conducts status meetings, and effectively communicates the project status to
stakeholders as delegated by the OEM Department Manager (Information Technology).
Develops project plans, administers the release management process, and ensures that
tasks are completed on time and within budget.
Participates in OEM Group IT projects.
Performs other duties as assigned by OEM Group Supervisor.
