Job description

Position: DBA (PostgreSQL)
Remote
Duration: 3 months+
  • Project
    • Upgrading versions of different databases
      • To major upgrade versions
    • DBA's
      • Aurora PostgresSQL
        • Going from 11.x to 12.14
        • 27 environments within this one
      • Aurora MySQL
        • 5.7- 3.03
        • 13 environments
      • MariaDB RDS
        • 10.3.36-- 10.4
        • 24 environments here
      • PostgresSQL RDS
        • 11-12.14 version
        • 2 environments
      • Nice to have- Oracle RDS, MSSQL RDS
        • Also Microsoft and SQL
      • Roughly 70 environments they have up and running, quite a few applications
        • Going to be supporting the automation engineer to ensure they're writing the correct code here.
      • Communication:
        • Will be working with RedHat directly as well
        • Soft skills are going to be important also
      • Have some automation engineers-- idea is they'll have 2 teams on this
    • 2 DBA's
      • Support, did we do this right
      • You do not want to upgrade, just create a new one
    • 2 Automation Engineer's youll be working with
      • Write the code in ansible-- to upgrade these versions
