Job description

Description

Who we are: Advanced Radiology Services is one of the largest physician-owned radiology practices in the country. Our growing practice includes 215 radiologists, 44 advanced practice providers, and 200 employees providing administrative support in our wholly owned subsidiary STARS. We value diversity on our team and promote a culture of inclusion.

What we do: We provide services to more than 60 different sites across the state of Michigan. ARS is the exclusive radiology provider to West Michigan’s largest Level I trauma center and research hospital, Corewell Health.  American College of Radiology has designated Corewell a Diagnostic Center for Excellence

What we are looking for: We are seeking candidates for a full time partnership track Body Radiologist. The successful candidate will dedicate the majority of clinical time to Body Imaging and Ultrasound. This position will be a combination of on-site shifts in Grand Rapids and remote shifts from home. We have adjusted our on-site hospital shift hours to provide parity with work from home shifts in our schedule. The on-site hours are typically 8 to 4 or 7 to 3. Our standard schedule positions work 39 weeks and 11 weekends and have 13 weeks’ vacation.

Responsibilities:

· Interpret body CT, general and specialized body MRI, CTA, and MRA studies.

· Interpret general ultrasound with additional interest in obstetric and vascular ultrasound desired. We are an IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) accredited vascular lab.

Why is our practice unique? ARS is a 100% physician owned and managed practice.  We are committed to remaining independent.  We are looking for entrepreneurial minded physicians who value involvement in decision making and developing our business strategy. Participation in section, committee and board meetings is not required but welcomed from day one. While we are an independent private practice, some of our physicians practice with an academic focus. In affiliation with Michigan State University College of Medicine, our radiologists have opportunities to teach and mentor residents and pursue research if desired. Due to the size and breadth of the healthcare systems we support, diagnostic volume and variety of clinical exposure is unrivaled.

Compensation/Benefits: Our physicians pay nothing for medical/dental/vision coverage. We also contribute the maximum amount allowed to the 401K plan. We offer a generous vacation package and abundant opportunities to pick up additional shifts and increase compensation. We are continually striving to improve the work/life balance for our physicians.

Why do you want to live here? Grand Rapids has evolved from its 19th-century roots as a hub of furniture production to the modern-day metro area that attracts college students and young families with its rapidly expanding health care system, award winning schools, an overall low cost of living and a diverse population. Grand Rapids is a scenic area with an affinity for public art. Its craft brewery scene is one of the best in the nation and is home to one of America's finest culinary schools with an astonishing variety of restaurants with fresh, farm-to-table cuisine for every taste and budget. Grand Rapids is proud of its traditional museums with substantial art collections, and is host to a vibrant performing arts community, anchored by three well-regarded regional theaters, professional ballet, a Grammy-nominated symphony and Broadway Grand Rapids - bringing productions to inspire audiences virtually every weekend. The city is home to a minor league baseball team, the “West Michigan Whitecaps” and the “Grand Rapids Griffins” AHL hockey team, both affiliates to professional teams in Detroit. We are two hours from Detroit, a 45 minute drive from the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan and home to many beautiful lakes only minutes away. Midwest friendliness is no exaggeration in Grand Rapids, which, despite being the second largest metro area in Michigan, exudes small-town warmth.
