The Role:



The Analyst needs to have a focus on mortgage quality and customer experience with end to end mortgage activities to include originations and back-office operations. This role is part of a larger team which will act as an independent review and evaluation of credit quality and loan compliance as well as the customer experience. This candidate will be responsible for performing all steps within the mortgage quality oversight review process accurately and within the required timeframe. In this role, the person will work closely with key business partners on quality issues through identification of defects and opportunities for improvement to the process, procedures and the overall customer experience. Role also participates in the identification and reporting to the management team significant trends related to quality issues. This role reports directly to the  Bank Mortgage Director - Business Line Risk Testing.
* Perform timely Pre and or Post-Funding Quality loan reviews for FHA mortgage originations to assess the accuracy and integrity of the information used to support the lending decision in accordance with FHA, GSE requirements, and adherence to federal and state compliance requirements, policy and procedures all related contractual terms and agreements.

 * Participate in reviewing and maintaining all FHA Pre/Post Fund Quality scripts, procedures, and methodologies
 * Work with business to ensure proper identification of cures
 * Learn other areas of responsibility within the Quality Team in order to perform call monitoring quality, and procedural adherence reviews for bulk transactions and servicing
 * Ensure consistent feedback to production management as it relates to quality and escalation to Senior Management when no corrective actions occur.
 * Communicate and facilitate within the quality review team process, procedure and regulatory changes as necessary.
 * Provide sufficient and timely reporting to management as required.
 * Participate in the identification and monitoring of trends to provide consistent and actionable feedback to Senior Management on gaps in need of improvement.
 * Ability to collaborate with business units to ensure root-cause analysis is incorporated into the correction action process.
 * Maintain a high degree of accuracy, departmental productivity and quality team goals.
 * Maintain current knowledge of business policies, procedures, federal & state regulations, GSE and investor requirements



Requirements
* 3+ plus years mortgage FHA underwriting review experience (full file review of credit, income/employment, assets, and collateral). Director Endorsement (D.E.) underwriter certification a plus.
  * Strong skill set and working knowledge of conforming (FNMA and FHLMC) and non-conforming product guidelines, underwriting policies, loan documentation requirements and GSE Seller guidelines.
 * Strong understanding of mortgage lending including operations and mortgage compliance -- understanding of TRID and ability to perform tolerance calculations a plus.
 * Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
 * Demonstrated ability to learn computer systems and adapt to new programs
 * Strong organization skills
 * Superior attention to detail
 * Good written and verbal communication skills
 Special skills/ abilities/ competencies required:
  * Dedicated and cooperative team player
 * Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative; ability to work productively under minimal supervision
 * Good working knowledge of mortgage banking practices and systems, particularly quality control
