Senior Network Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Job Type: Full-time

Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. The Senior Network Engineer will play a crucial role in the management, optimization, and security of our WAN/LAN network infrastructure. This position requires in-depth knowledge of network protocols, security measures, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related issues. The ideal candidate should possess CCNP or CCIE certification, strong problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of network architecture and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

    • Continuously monitor the WAN/LAN network for performance and security issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network-related incidents and outages promptly.
  2. Identity and Access Management:

    • Manage access to network and security devices while ensuring security controls are in place.
  3. Network Architecture and Security:

    • Understand and adhere to industry standards for Data Centre Network Architectures.
    • Ensure secured traffic flow within the network infrastructure.
  4. Wide Area Network Expertise:

    • Proficiency in SDWAN, MPLS cloud, Internet Leased Lines (ILL), Point-to-Point (P2P), and Cloud direct connects, including knowledge of respective protocols.
  5. Network Security:

    • Demonstrate expertise in network security and traffic analysis.
    • Implement measures to protect network access, data, and network/security devices from external and internal threats.
  6. Device Installation and Administration:

    • Install, integrate, administer, and troubleshoot network and security devices, including Cisco firewalls (FTD), routers, switches, and Load balancers.
  7. Customer Interaction:

    • Engage with internal and external customers to understand their network requirements.
    • Translate customer needs into network requirements and guide implementation with appropriate security controls.
  8. Incident Handling:

    • Provide support for incident handling, including investigation and resolution.
  9. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

    • Contribute to network disaster recovery planning and execution.
    • Ensure business continuity by maintaining network resilience.
  10. Policy and Documentation:

    • Develop, review, and update network policies, procedures, and documentation.
  11. Inventory and Patch Management:

    • Manage network infrastructure inventory and implement patch management processes.
  12. Reporting and Compliance:

    • Report findings from network assessments, audits, and security scans.
    • Follow up on findings and ensure timely closure.

Qualifications:

  • CCNP or CCIE certification is required.
  • Proven experience in network engineering and troubleshooting.
  • Deep understanding of network architecture, protocols, and security measures.
  • Familiarity with SDWAN, MPLS, and cloud networking.
  • Strong knowledge of network security and traffic analysis.
  • Experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, and Load balancers.
  • Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours when needed.
