Job description

Opportunity

Associates advise clients and drive execution on accounts, focusing on delivery of workstreams and proactive development of ideas. They develop and deliver the best examples of work for internal and external use; as well as broadening their external network.

Associates demonstrate an ability to convince a variety of other stakeholders of the client’s point of view in critical situations and – through strong relationships with the client – explain how this is being achieved.

Our work within corporate communications and financial advisory

Together with our offices in Berlin and Munich, we cover a full range of industry sectors and practices to help our clients navigate the interconnected worlds of finance, social, regulatory and government affairs.

We work with many of the world’s largest companies in all industry sectors, most of which are listed on stock exchanges. We create expertly defined communications strategies that get to the heart of specific opportunities and challenges faced by corporates around the world.  We have counselled corporations on protecting and enhancing their reputations over the long term and have supported them through many of the most critical junctures in their history, including mergers and acquisitions, hostile defences, IPOs, capital raisings, leadership changes, governance matters, crisis, and responses to activist shareholders.

We understand the challenges of communicating in a highly regulated, heavily scrutinized and often volatile environment. Successfully communicating with all stakeholders, including the investment community, media, governments, regulators, employees, customers and society-at-large is a key component of creating trust and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Associates drive execution on client accounts, managing workflow and key elements.

They advise clients with support of Directors/Partners, drawing on independent experience and insights. They manage complex media interactions, using advanced knowledge of media and stakeholder landscapes.

Associates take a greater role in team management and dynamics, including supporting smooth team transitions, and serving as a mentor to junior team members.

They play an active role in drafting new business proposals, including participating in pitch meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies
  • You have at least 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, management or communications consulting, corporate communications, investor relations, equity research or journalism.
  • A deep understanding of the intersection of economy, business, financial reporting, politics and society to provide support with capital market-related issues.
  • A proven ability to advise senior stakeholders in particular on capital market transactions, IPOs and strategic reorganisations as well as crisis communications
  • The ability to operate effectively in a commercial, self-starting, and fast-paced environment
  • A strong ability in verbal and written communication skills and an engaging presentation style - in both German and English.
  • Energetic team player, demonstrating a commitment to helping colleagues at all levels of the firm accomplish their individual and client objectives
  • Carrying out media analyses of economic, financial and political topics
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
  • Prior experience of consulting corporate clients to evaluate and respond to their specific business needs, would be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of the German media landscape is helpful.
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit.
  • Liaising with our business partners and other stakeholders.

What we offer you
  • Exciting tasks and attractive development prospects in an international, team-orientated and inspiring working environment with a lot of personal responsibility
  • Insights into a wide range of industries and areas of expertise
  • Varied work and flat hierarchies
  • Regular further education and training programmes
  • Great creative freedom with short decision-making processes and attractive remuneration
