Overview

An ideal candidate for this position will be a licensed Structural Engineer who possesses our company’s Core Values, with experience in commercial building design consulting among other market sectors. The candidate will be proficient in structural commercial buildings, component analysis, guiding drafters’ efforts though markup direction, and ensuring quality control. In this role you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful execution of our commercial and structural consulting projects.  

Responsibilities 

  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad area of assignments. 
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems, practices, and methods and may create and refine unique design solutions. 
  • Stamping and sealing of one’s own drawings/documents as well as drawings/documents as the professional in ‘responsible charge’ of contributing mid-level structural engineers supervised on the project(s) 
  • Performs structural analysis and design for a wide range of building structures both new and existing. 
  • Active participation in the full project cycle, including Project Kickoff Meetings through final construction. 
  • Oversight of construction administration including but not limited to: review of repair letters, shop drawings, RFI responses, providing direction for corrective action. 
  • Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs medium to large engineering projects or several smaller complex projects with overall responsibility for budget adherence, schedule adherence, quality control, and inter-discipline coordination. 
  • Sketches engineering designs and develops project specific details from scratch into completed working details and drawings based on solid engineering fundamentals. 
  • Occasional travel – including out of state - may be required. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college. 
  • Licensed P.E. Required with a minimum of (12) years of directly related practical experience with former employer(s). 
  • Proficient in the design of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. Familiarity with design of cold formed metal framing.  
  • Experience with structural analysis software including RAM Elements 
  • Knowledge of detailing requirements of steel structures, masonry structure, concrete structures, wood framed structures, and foundations. 
  • Salary Range: $95,000-$115,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and certifications directly related to the position.
